What’s your name?
Alison Neighbour
What do you do?
Set and costume designer
What’s the first piece of theatre you remember seeing?
Charlotte’s Web at The Sherman – there torches and fog and a swing and it was really beautiful.
Who (or what) did you want to be when you were growing up?
An actor, an artist, an architect… all kind of related to what I do now!
How long have you been working in theatre, and how did you get started?
I’ve been working professionally for about 9 years, but did university theatre and am dram before that, so always really. It’s my Dad’s fault, he took me along to the local am dram group and also helped me get some work experience with Gwent Theatre and it all spiralled from there.
What have you worked on recently?
The Little Prince at the Playground Theatre, a fab new space in a disused bus depot; and Tumulus, an exciting piece of new writing for Vaults Festival.
What are you most looking forward to about The Girl with Incredibly Long Hair?
Colour, texture, and magic!
And finally …what would your superpower be?
Not having to sleep! I could get so much more done!
